This dataset supports the article “Educational Losses and SEL in Wartime Ukraine: Implications for English Teacher Education” and provides structured comparative data extracted from 20 university-level teacher-education syllabi from 14 U.S. institutions. Its purpose is to document and systematize how contemporary teacher-education courses address social-emotional learning (SEL), mindfulness, trauma-informed education, empathy, resilience, wellbeing, restorative practices, and whole-child education. The dataset includes information on institutions, course titles and academic years, educational level and target audience, key concepts, stated learning outcomes, topics and modules, assignments and assessed practices, assigned readings, and primary syllabus sources. The data form the primary empirical basis for the study’s subsequent coding and analysis of emerging professional competencies and their curricular and institutional embeddedness. The dataset represents an illustrative, criterion-filtered corpus rather than a statistically representative sample of U.S. teacher education.
