Репрезентуючи на грошових знаках (монетах, купюрах) та іншій своїй нумізматичній продукції пам’ятні події, дати, історичні явища, постаті, національну символіку, НБУ формує сприйняття українського народу, його культури і державності як всередині українського суспільства, так і в міжнародному середовищі. Набір даних містить вибірку нумізматичної продукції НБУ у кількості близько 830 монет і 31 пам’ятна медаль. Вони випущені протягом 1995-2025 років. Не враховувалися у нашій вибірці монети, що не мали прорадянського чи проросійського забарвлення та були пов’язані з проукраїнською тематикою. Окремими таблицями наведено кількісні показники нумізматичної (монетної) продукції Національного банку України, присвяченої окресленій тематиці за роками, перелік монет, що включені нами до вказаних серій, матрицю відповідності виходу монет (включених до нашого переліку) за тематичними серіями по роках. Цей набір даних нами був доповнений також відомостями про Президентів України, які завжди виступали одними з головних реалізаторів історичної політики, основними її промоутерами, а також про голів Національного банку України (з вказанням чітких дат перебування цих осіб на їхніх посадах). Така інформація може бути корисною при більш глибокому дослідженні ролі НБУ в історичній політиці України, тенденцій у визначенні монетної тематики, а можливо навіть наявності певної політичної кон’юнктури у діяльності НБУ за часів того чи іншого президента. The National Bank of Ukraine is an influential actor in Ukraine's memory policy. Through the representation of commemorative events, historical milestones, prominent figures, and national symbols on banknotes, coins, and other numismatic products, the NBU helps shape perceptions of the Ukrainian people, their culture, and statehood, both within Ukrainian society and internationally. The dataset contains a selection of the NBU's numismatic products, comprising approximately 830 commemorative coins and 31 commemorative medals issued between 1995 and 2025. The selection excludes coins unrelated to pro-Ukrainian themes and those that do not contain pro-Soviet or pro-Russian narratives. Consequently, the dataset focuses exclusively on numismatic products reflecting Ukrainian historical memory, national identity, and state-building. In addition to the catalogue of commemorative coins and medals, the dataset includes separate tables presenting: (1) annual quantitative indicators of the National Bank of Ukraine's numismatic production related to the selected themes; (2) a complete list of coins included in the thematic series identified by the authors; and (3) a matrix showing the distribution of these coins across thematic series and years of issue. The dataset has also been supplemented with information on the Presidents of Ukraine, who have consistently played a leading role in shaping and promoting the country's memory policy, as well as on the Governors of the National Bank of Ukraine, including the exact dates of their terms of office.
