The data are organized into a table and – to facilitate analysis – presented as a graph based on the tabular results (within a single Excel file); these results reflect averaged characteristics (derived from 10 samples) determined under laboratory conditions at the M.S. Polyakov Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In addition, the PDF file contains a description and general photographs of the Novomykolaivskyi granite quarry, as well as images of narrow size fractions of screenings, processed using a scientific-educational digital photoplanimetry program through the segmentation of the images of these fractions.
The purpose of the dataset is to study the particle size distribution (across size ranges) in order to optimize the granulometric (fractional) composition of the sand.
The following notations are used in the table and on the graph: d, mm – size fractions; γ, % – fraction yield.
The presented results make it possible – through fine classification utilizing specific particle-size fractions – to achieve the required sand fineness modulus and to remove dust and clay inclusions (smaller than 0.16 mm).</description></descriptions><geoLocations/></resource>
