The D.K. Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is Ukraine’s largest and leading research institution in microbiology, virology, and microbial biotechnology. The Institute conducts fundamental research on the systematics, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, and ecology of diverse groups of bacteria, microscopic fungi, and viruses, and develops the scientific foundations for biotechnological products and processes based on microorganisms for applications in agriculture, industry, medicine, veterinary medicine, and environmental protection.
